Fun in the Snow (well, sort of...)

The snow began falling yesterday around 3 p.m., and it's still coming down! When the kids woke up this morning, they were giddy with excitement and could barely stand still long enough for me to get their layers on.

Even Abbey was eager to get outside, but as soon as she stepped out and realized the snow is as tall as she is, all thoughts of emptying her bladder disappeared and she immediately wanted to go back inside.

Liam didn't last much longer. With the snow well above his waist, he quickly lost his balance and took a nosedive. I had to clean his face off with a towel while he cried and sputtered, "Mommy, I not like da snow."

Annabell was a different story. As soon as we went outside, she immediately vaulted over a snowbank and landed face-first in a 3-foot drift. With her arms and legs flailing, she yelled for help and finally came up white from head to toe. I expected a scream and lots of tears, but instead she started laughing and trying to lick the snow off her own cheeks.

After about a half an hour, we were all ready for some hot chocolate by the wood stove!

Here are some pics from this morning:

Annabell and Liam waiting (im)patiently for Mommy to get dressed.

Abbey getting more than she bargained for.

Annabell, snow princess.

Tim... well, being Tim.

Rosy cheeks, ready for something warm to drink!

"Can we go in now?"
